Faithful in little

"He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much" ‭‭Luke 16:10 Faithfulness is what you do with what is given to you.  Are you faithful with what is given to you? Are you still keep God's standard though on one recognize you? It is not hard to be faithful in many things if you are faithful in few things. Test of faithfulness happens when being faithful with little things. Faithful person keeps integr [...]

I am the vine, you are the branches

"I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." ‭‭John 15:5 Fruit-bearing without the relationship without Christ is unattainable. 'Abide' is a relationship between two parties that connects and shares trust and love.  There are possibilities that branches attach to the vine, though without producing any fruit, such vines will be removed. The vine/vineyard is a metaphor Jesus used here. Attachment to Jesus is the [...]

Do not give up

"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary." ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬  Keep doing good, no matter what is the outcome. Keep doing good in every situation to everyone.  Losing heart = Losing interest.  Do not expect the result immediately.  There is no hope if we keep doing bad.  "due time" - God's time, not our time. God will honor faithfulness because he is faithful.  Sometimes we may be tempted to give up - due to struggles and persecutions, also not s [...]

Persecuted for the Sake of Righteousness

2 Timothy 2:12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us; James 5:11 We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. 1 Peter 2:19 For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly. 1 Peter 3:14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are [...]

Wisdom from God

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." Jam ‭1:5‬ Wisdom is a capacity of the mind; in the OT it involves both knowledge and the ability to direct the mind toward a full understanding of human life and toward its moral fulfillment. Wisdom is thus a special capacity, necessary for full human living, but one which can be acquired through education and the application of the mind. ((Walter A. Elwell and Barry [...]

Word became flesh

"And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." Jn 1:14 Christ (God) came to dwell among us - Immanuel (God in man) We saw His glory ... Even Moses could not see His Glory in full. Don't forget who He really is, even though He is a good Father and friend for us. One of the reason why did Jesus incarnated (incarnation is becoming in flesh) so we can identify with Him, Someone said, "Get to know Jesus well, b [...]

Give us daily bread

Give us this day our daily bread - Matt 6:11 Even though we don't pray this prayer daily, God still answers our prayers and gives food everyday, how gracious is our Lord. The verb 'give' used in Matthew 6:11 (NT Background Comm): epiousios means sufficient for the day. Here 'Bread' is used to represent a common term for food. Even though we eat the meal and satisfied, we get hungry again. Hunger is a never satisfying activity until we die. God wants us to pray this daily - means - our prayers ar [...]

Healthy Food for the soul

“But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’ ”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NASB No one can live without food for a few days or months; the body stops functioning if there is no sufficient nutrients food is not consuming.  Physical blood needs perishable food; the spiritual body needs unperishable food, which is God's word. "Every" word - so we must be careful with every word.. not even a small crumbs left behind.  [...]

Abide

“I am the vine; you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” ‭‭John‬ ‭15:5‬  Abide = to wait, to endure without yielding, to bear patiently: tolerate, to accept without objection, to remain stable or fixed in a state, to continue in a place. Abide is a permanent residence; it is not a temporary place to stay. Branches do not naturally choose the vine. Here the followers of Christ have the choice to abide in Him. If we abide i [...]

Strong and courageous

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.  If we are strong, we will have courage, even though we have both, but if we don't have our God with us, our strength and courage won't make any difference.  "your" God - Make God as personal and intimate. God will not fail us - There are chances our strength or courage fail us but never with God. We will be tempted to go with o [...]
