Loving Enemies

“But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” https://www.bible.com/100/luk.6.27-28.nasb

  • Being an enemy is their choice toward you, Not your opportunity to them. God’s children have only one choice of love.
  • We may face challenges from enemies, antagonists, cursers, and is evil treaters.
  • For people in the world, they hold revenge as an excellent opportunity to respond in the same way they were treated.
  • For God’s children also make these opportunities to reflect their Father’s divine character. Eg. The humility of Christ and obedience to God, the Father
  • Gods’ Character ⇒ Love, properly treating others, blessing and praying for them.
  • Good children instinctively display the goodness of their parents in every situation. In which, God’s children prove their identity in God’s family by showing God’s nature in their actions.
  • Forgiveness is responding to evil with virtue. It’s responding to hate with love, responding to curse with blessing, responding to mistreaters with prayers.
  • Forgiveness is the act of the heart. You need Jesus in your heart to forgive others because Jesus showed precisely how to respond in unforgiveness situation.
