Strong and courageous

Strong and courageous

Deuteronomy 31:6

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.

  • If we are strong, we will have courage, even though we have both, but if we don’t have our God with us, our strength and courage won’t make any difference.
  • “your” God – Make God as personal and intimate.
  • God will not fail us – There are chances our strength or courage fail us but never with God.
  • We will be tempted to go with our strength or with borrowed strengths from others; those are not as effective as God himself goes with us.
  • If you are in a battle, you never failed. If you are alone, you are never left alone.
  • Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the commitment to overcome it.
  • Courage does not mean you’re not afraid; it means you battle against your fear and confronts it.
  • When you face giants, keep saying to them as well as to yourself more clearly, “I am not alone – I am following God,” Don’t tell God is following you.
